How are you the change*

I love the saying " Be the change you want to see in the world" ~Ghandi~  I've been thinking how am I making the world better? I sign petitions and I give to charity, but on a more basic level I make sure that I am respectful and honest...I do random acts of kindness and I take the time to listen to people. Listening seems to have become a lost art form....but I wonder if these things make a difference? When people are kind and polite to me it brightens my day and I want to share that with the people around me....but do others feel the same way?
So I have been wondering...how are you the change everyday?

  1. I do! Of course, you know that. Keep at it. Sometimes it feels futile, but it at least you've done something rather than sitting around complaining.

  3. I am with you on this. I know in my head that the work I do makes a difference, but sometimes it is hard to feel it. I am an advocate for abused women and children, and activist in my community for helping kids realize their potential, I do what I can with my shop to help people and donate to a great cause. Yet it's hard to not feel like its not working when there is still so much negativity going on. We are making a difference. We are being the change. Even if we haven't solved the entire problem just yet!

I am a new follower and looking forward to reading your blog!

  5. I thought I should share some wisdom from my husband. This morning I am really bothered by the Troy Davis case- so much so that it woke me up at 3 am- my husband told me that I have a good heart and that it does make a difference because I am teaching our children about compassion and justice, so they can teach theirs. He really believes that it changes things in a tangible way.
